potluck.

Today my work is having a potluck. This is the first potluck I've ever attended thats mine, not my moms or elementary schools. You'd think this would be a-okay for a person who writes a food blog. And cooking all the time.

No.
I dont get to taste my food before others, so who knows if it is good!

I was originally going to make my classic lemon meringue pie, but as the date drew near, I changed my mind and decided to make candied yams. Especially 'cause I wanted to post about it, but didnt want to cook it a week before Thanksgiving, and spoil my once a year candied yams at my parents! But yams are one of my faves!
I've only made this once. Back in 2007. It was my first time making Thanksgiving dinner 'cause I couldnt leave Vegas due to the musical I was in. This was probably the easiest meal, also becuase I left the bag of giblets in the turkey through the cooking..and stuffing...
I did a maple syrup glaze for the turkey that I found in a Rachel Ray Magazine

So anyways, I'm panicking while writing this, thinking maybe I should make the lemon meringue pie for safety?

..That means I have to clean a pot...ugh..If its bad I'll just say I didnt bring anything!!

But it sure looks tasty!
Candied Yams

Ingredients
2 large can of yams or however big your pan is!
1/2-1 cup brown sugar to your taste
multi-colored mini marshmallows they were sold out =(

  1. Pre-heat oven to 325-350.
  2. In a pot mix and heat the yams, with a little of the syrup, not all, and the brown sugar together. Here your chance to taste them! Do it now, 'cause you cant once the marshmallows harden!
  3. Sprinkle your marshmallows over the yams and bake for like 15 min, or until the marshmallows have browned slightly!
  4. Let cool, and enjoy!
