dannon oikos greek yogurt.

I wrote this post while participating in a blog tour conducted by Clever Girls on behalf of Dannon. I have been compensated for my time commitment to the program but my opinions are my own.

Cool huh? I always get emails that have these amazing opportunities but they were always for moms, or women expecting. Now I have nothing against you ladys, but I've still have yet to receive the ring...ahem Daniel!...so when I saw this I was beyond excited! And when I was accepted I was bouncing off the walls with happiness. I immediatly ran out and bought the Oikos Fruit on the Bottom: Blueberry. So tasty, and creamy! I love yogurt!
Dannon® Oikos® 0% varieties contain active yogurt cultures and range from 80 calories (Plain) to 130 calories (Fruit on the Bottom) per 5.3 oz. cup.
Perfect! Low calories and tasty!

But I didnt want to just try the greek yogurt, I wanted to make it into a meal. I first thought of making a sauce to go with some chicken, but the more I thought about it I wanted to make my own version of it. I'm always using others recipes and never my own. So I decided on a Lavender Honey Frozen (Greek) Yogurt. I've never used lavender, but always wanted to. Daniel was scared, 'cause to him lavender is a fragrance not a flavor. Well to his luck, 3 stores later I could not find dry lavender and I was not going to battle LA traffic to head into southern parts with the bigger farmer market stores. So I've now decided on Lemon Mint instead. Still sounds extremely refreshing, and summer-y.

I got the quart of Oikos Greek Nonfat Yogurt Vanilla instead of the plain (I'm not a big fan of plain yogurt).

I opened it, took a big spoonful to try some before mixing in the lemon, and O.M.G. It tasted like cake batter ice cream (Daniel thinks I'm crazy, and it reminded him of parfaits, which is more logical I guess). I couldn't stop eating it!

Daniel: "Did you eat that whole tub?!"
(as I put another spoonful in my mouth)
Uh, noo! Cant you see I'm making frozen yogurt...

...I had almost forgot that I was going to make frozen yogurt! So here we go Lemon Mint Frozen Yogurt.

 Add lemon juice...

...honey for sweetness...

...And refreshing mint.

Bust out that ice cream maker!

Drizzle honey and garnish.

Its so hot in our house, it started melting immediately, but it was amazing! The tartness of the lemon with the sweetness of the mint and drizzled honey. Total bomb! And you know what? It was made by me...yes ok it is a simple recipe, but it is all mine, my idea, my recipe.

Overall, the fruit on the bottom was like all other fruit yogurts (delicious!), perhaps a little sweeter, but the regular greek yogurt, especially the vanilla flavored was amazing! I will def be buying this again! And so because I liked it so much I am adding this: Dannon Oikos is offering a coupon for a free cup on www.facebook.com/oikos.**

I have partnered with Dannon to help promote the Dannon Oikos Greek Yogurt Series.  I have been compensated for my time commitment to the program, which includes writing about the promotion and product.  However, my opinions are entirely my own and I have not been paid to publish positive comments.
